Journey of the Featherless

WOHOOHOO! I signed up for the Toefl! Oh man, I was so worried it'd be too late - exam's on the 17th and I know they only let you register until 7 days before the date.

...OKAY, SO TODAY IS STILL THE 9TH, but-- what if they considered dates differently? What if this? What if that? What if that other thing? :O And so forth and so on. But seriously, if dad hadn't managed to fix the modem by tonight (and just tonight he did) I would have been in trouble :( ...okay, okay, maybe not exactly "trouble", there would have still been the 31st, but. You know.

OH WELL.

Ha! Ha! One more thing before I go to sleep! There's this story I read and that I fell in love with - it's called The Great Divide, the second part is here, and it's a Dark Tower fanfiction. (Incidentally, I STRONGLY recommend you read the 7th book first, if you haven't.) Oh, and it's awesome. In case you were, like, wondering or something. It's driven, it's intense - and in the days after I read it I found myself working hard to keep the fanfiction facts separate from the canon facts, it fit in so well. Ha ha, I am so not joking.

And I'm shitty enough that I haven't posted a review yet! Grah! Granted, I have hardly been online lately, but that's no excuse :( Okay, maybe it is. STILL. I've printed it out (only way for me to read anything with some ease, really), though, so at least I can take my time when I try to compose it. I'm telling you, it won't be easy - I felt so much of it acting so deep down, that putting it into words is going to take some work. ;)

Aw, I know you love me, even overposting and all. ;P

Because, you see, rs_games finished posting just last Sunday! Lots of good stuff is on there - and WHY, think of coincidences, I know of a place you could use to browse through that. *g* Okay, okay, maybe I can think of two... ;)

If you are one of those who enjoys the Remus/Sirius pairing, there are so many goodies that rs_games has been dishing out these past days, isn't that true? Enough to keep you warm, cosy and entertained for days on end. ♥

But isn't it almost like viewing the shop of a bakery shop? There are so many things that look appetizing, but more often than not, you can't take them all - you have to make a choice and you might end up asking the man/woman at the counter for advice.

Here is an attempt to do just that. :) Below you will find a comprehensive archive of the submissions posted so far - limited to my team's entries. Some of you might remember this from last time. I saw people were having fun, so I thought, why not do it again? Behind the cut you'll find ten chunks of prose from ten different stories (by ten different authors), and all of them are Sirius/Remus. (Or Remus/Sirius. You know to me it's the same.) Tell me either the title, or the author, or even just enough of the plot to let me understand you know which story it is, and you'll get Points - and for the one who gets more stories, there might possibly be a Prize. :P

It's... pretty much all, I'd say.

So. I'm apparently genetically unable to come up with something that might even vaguely look like a plotline, not to mention - heaven forbid - a script. Therefore, I've started browsing through the drabbles I've saved along the years (no way I could delude myself into thinking I might make a comic out of a fully developed story). And I've stumbled on one I've discovered not too long ago, thank to the goddess that Ni is.





I don't know how I've missed this, when Cate (sheafrotherdon) posted it. It's just so... moving. And sweet. It makes something warm unfurl in my chest every time.


(I may have found what I could use, though. Now I've left to rough out the whatever-it's-called storyboard, to see if I actually can do it, and than email the author.)

Long ago, I signed up at Bookcrossing.com - and then left it at that, since it's not really the website for me. I am too possessive of books. If one came to my hands, and I liked a real lot... I probably wouldn't leave it around again. Which is sort of against the point, isn't it. Still, this morning, near the of tha bar where I usually go, I found The Iliad. So I thought, well, why not. It's in prose (obviously enough), which makes me curious, and it should have passed enough time since High School that I should be actyually able to read and enjoy it without cringing. ;P

Anyway, I'm telling you this, because I remembered there was a bookish quotes page, and. Oh, the love. Screw The Iliad, I'll be rereading Comme Un Roman today. (Or maybe not, since I'm currently rereading The Truce, but still. (and - oh sod it, I can't start talking about it here. It would be the longest bracket known to history.))
